Japanese Craft
- The permanent Japanese exhibition was an important factor when Röhsska Museum opened to the public in 1916. The museum still has a Japanese room, which highlights a representative selection of the rich collections. The foundations of the museum’s collections of Japanese design were laid early, through a few major acquisitions of Japanese artefacts. These include a donation from a number of merchants in Göteborg in 1905, the orientalist Fredrik Martin’s collection with a total of 800 objects of Japanese handicrafts.
