Collection of cast iron

The collection of cast iron is one of Röhsska’s least famous collections and although the objects are diverse they have one thing in common: they are made of the same material. The objects comes mostly from Swedish and Norwegian ironworks, and have been collected over a period of thirty years. The museum’s collection of cast iron was purposefully collected by the museum in the early 1900’s. Since the Röhsska museum was mostly interested in the objects qualities from a design perspective, the majority of the collection consist of iron stoves and embossed stove slabs.
