Description

Agneta Flock is a Swedish textile artist who grew up in Ethiopia and Thailand. She studied textiles at the Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design and printing at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. She has participated in a large number of exhibitions and is represented in numerous museum collections. Agneta Flock has also made public works for institutions all over Sweden. She finds inspiration in childhood memories of Etiopia and Thailand, creating in a playful style that mixes drawing with textile art.

This silhouette cut was given to the Röhsska Museum by the estate of Marianne Erikson (1939 - 2013), who worked at Röhsska as a textile curator in 1974 – 1999. Her involvement in the Museum’s collection of textiles continued long after her retirement, and she was a respected textile expert in Sweden and internationally.
