Harri Koskinen was first known for Block Lamp in glass, which he designed while still a student at the University of Industrial Arts (1996). It was incorporated in the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection in 2000 and has several times won awards, including Excellent Swedish Design Award in 1998 and Best New Product at the Accent Show in New York. Harri Koskinen was awarded the Pro Finlandia in 2007, the Italian design prize Premio Compasso d'Oro ADI (for Muu chair from Italian Montina) in 2004 and the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize in 2009.
