The two wooden armchairs have an upright shape with spindle backs. They are painted brown with black spindles and feet. The wear on the flat, almost pear-shaped, armrests shows that the chairs were once red. The chairs were designed in 1899 for the “Gröna rummet” (Green Room) exhibition, initiated by Ellen Key at the Arbetarinstitutet (Workers’ Institute), Stockholm.
